Job Description:Create, maintain, and communicate data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure effective and efficient data usage across the organization, including data classification, access control, and metadata managementDefine and enforce data quality standards, monitor data quality metrics, identify inconsistencies or anomalies, and implement improvements to ensure data accuracy and reliabilityCollaborate closely with business units, engineering, cybersecurity, legal, and compliance teams to align data governance practices with organizational objectives and regulatory requirementsDevelop and maintain metadata repositories, master data documentation, and data catalogs to enable a unified understanding and accessibility of data assetsEnsure compliance with data privacy regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and UU PDP, as well as internal security policies including data masking, encryption, and access controlsBuild and use dashboards and reporting tools to visualize governance metrics, analyze anomalies, and provide alerts when issues occurLead workshops and training sessions to educate employees on data governance policies, best practices, and compliance requirementsIdentify opportunities to automate and enhance data governance processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness
Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experienceMinimum 3 years of experience in data governance, data quality management, or related data analyst roles, preferably within regulated industries such as fintech, banking, or healthcareStrong proficiency in SQL and PythonSolid understanding of data modeling, metadata management, data lineage, and data quality monitoring toolsFamiliarity with data privacy and data protection regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and UU PDPExcellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly document policies and effectively engage stakeholders at various levelsStrong analytical thinking, attention to detail, collaboration, and stakeholder management skillsAbility to influence stakeholders and drive change across cross-functional teamsRelevant data governance or data management certifications are a plus
