What You Will Experience:Develop and implement category strategies for key chemical inputs (e.g., bleaching agents, process chemicals, sizing agents, fillers, dyes). Lead strategic sourcing events (RFI/RFQ/RFP) to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive supplier competitiveness. Analyze market trends, raw material indices, and supplier performance to guide sourcing strategies. Build and maintain strategic relationships with global, regional, and local chemical suppliers. Conduct supplier segmentation, performance reviews, and risk assessments. Negotiate long-term supply contracts and manage price and supply risks. Achieve year-over-year cost savings and cost avoidance targets. Apply TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and should-cost modeling to optimize procurement spend. Identify and lead value engineering or process optimization initiatives in collaboration with operations and R&D. Partner with production, quality, logistics, R&D, and sustainability teams to align procurement decisions with business needs. Ensure compliance with SHE (Safety, Health & Environment), REACH, and other chemical-related regulations. Drive procurement process standardization, digitization, and use of procurement tools (e.g., SAP MM, Ariba, spend analytics). Support the development and implementation of KPIs and dashboards to monitor category performance. Contribute to procurement transformation and excellence programs.
What is Required:Minimum Bachelor’s degree Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field. MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) is a plus.8–10 years of procurement or sourcing experience, with at least 5 years in chemical category management. Industry experience in pulp, paper, tissue, or process manufacturing preferred. Proven track record in leading large-scale sourcing projects and managing strategic supplier partnerships. Strong commercial negotiation and contract management skills. In-depth knowledge of chemical supply markets and regulatory landscape. Analytical and financial acumen for cost modelling and sourcing analytics. Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing, and project management skills. Proficiency in SAP, e-sourcing platforms, and procurement analytics tools. Commitment to safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
