    Role OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Homeschool English and Humanities Teacher to deliver high-quality, personalised learning for middle school students. The successful candidate will provide one-to-one and small group instruction following the Cambridge or British curriculum, adapting teaching to suit individual learning needs and learning styles. This role requires a flexible, student-centred educator who can build strong relationships with students and families.
    Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching and LearningDeliver personalised English Language and English Literature lessonsTeach Humanities subjects including History, Geography, Global Perspectives, and Social StudiesPlan customised learning programmes based on student needs and abilitiesDifferentiate instruction to support diverse learnersCreate engaging, interactive lessons to motivate studentsDevelop students’ reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking skillsIntegrate project-based and inquiry-based learning approachesAssessment and ReportingAssess student progress regularlyMaintain detailed learning records and portfoliosProvide written progress reportsMeet regularly with parents to discuss progress and goalsStudent SupportSupport students with Special Educational NeedsSupport English as an Additional Language learnersBuild student confidence and independenceCollaborate with external specialists where requiredLearning EnvironmentCreate a positive and structured learning atmosphereEstablish clear routines and expectationsEnsure safeguarding and student wellbeing at all timesProfessional ResponsibilitiesMaintain professional standards and confidentialityAttend team meetings and professional development sessionsContribute ideas to improve the homeschool programme
    Essential RequirementsMinimum five years teaching experienceBachelor’s degree in English, Humanities, Education, or related fieldRecognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, or Bachelor of EducationExperience teaching the Cambridge or British curriculumStrong subject knowledge across English and HumanitiesExperience working in a homeschool or one-to-one setting preferredExperience supporting Special Educational Needs studentsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsTwo professional references from previous employers
