The Role:This Test Engineer will accept a role in providing support for production test equipment and business processes around testing units. These responsibilities are ultimately focused on maximizing production throughput while maintaining product quality. This role regularly needs to effectively interface with design, process, electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering to solve product issues and production problems.Essential Functions:Assist in managing a deployed fleet of hundreds of pieces of test equipment and related test software modules.Create and enforce qualification standards across multiple product lines and functional departments.Work with contract manufacturers to validate product qualification using consigned test equipment.Create documentation for tester maintenance and support.Review and implement engineering change requests (ECR - ECO).Contribute to design reviews, improve automated functional tests.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Rigorous engineering design-based methodology combined with multi-disciplinary engineering skills.Ability to troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems or robots.Ability to troubleshoot connected devices and sensors on Windows based machines.Workflow management using Jira and documentation in Confluence.Experience with version control management systems (EPDM, Bitbucket, Stash)Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.Minimum education and work experience required:Bachelor’s Degree in related engineering discipline.5+ years of experience in a cross functional role dealing with electrical, mechanical, and software engineering.

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for conducting pre-sales feasibility studies, customer presentations, trade show set-up, training and onsite post-sales support/installation. The AE determines the right combination of Cognex vision or sensor hardware, lighting, optics and programing for an optimal solution that fits within the customer’s defined budget. The Applications Engineering team provides technical expertise and support the sales organization in selling Cognex Vision and Sensor products to assist sales in exceeding their quota.
Essential Functions:
Provides application feasibilities and fast tracks as necessary. Conducts demonstrations and online trials of products at customer sites, trade shows, seminars, and events. Troubleshoots issues at customers and provides resolutions to problems.Completes evaluation reports in a timely and complete manner while recommending a solution that fits within the constraints of the application.Provides expertise in the integration of Cognex products with devices such as PLCs, PCs, or Controllers. Develops a broad technical knowledge of Cognex’s vision and sensor product families. Provides customer and sales engineer training when required. Provides product feedback to AE Manager and Product Business Units to improve products. Provides sales intelligence to sales when communicating with or visiting customers to help Cognex win.Maintain and continuously update project information in salesBook.

Minimum education and work experience required:
Bachelor Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / Communication with 70% average or equivalent 2-4 years machine vision related applications engineering working experience preferred.Those who are electrical engineer but have machine vision debugging experience also welcome.Programming knowledge in C# / .Net / Java is an added advantageKnowledge in Industrial communication protocol for PLC is an added advantageMachine Vision / Robotics / AI / Deep Learning knowledge is an added advantageShould be comfortable working in factory environment

The Role:This Senior Manufacturing Engineer position is responsible for supporting existing product designs and supply chain. This includes production at suppliers, contract manufacturers, distribution centers and projects to improve manufacturability, optimize costs, and improve quality. Essential Functions:Ensure that materials selection and product designs achieve optimal balance of cost, quality, and manufacturabilityInvestigate quality issues through application of sound problem solving skills in a team environmentCollect production data, analyze, report, take corrective action, and drive continuous improvementUnderstanding supplier capabilities to aid design discussions and deliver cost reduction while maintaining qualitySupport assembly, test, and inspection methods for productsPerform qualifications to support end of life component replacementsActively search for cost savings in design, assembly process or components in all productsAbility to travel locally (mostly Asia) to CMs, vendors, or customers. Travel is approximately 20%. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Design new and improve on existing assembly fixtures and processesHands on experience in mechanical and/or PCB manufacturing process engineering, optical knowledge is a plusKnowledge of design for manufacture, assembly techniques, die castings, injection molding, cable assemblies, and surface treatments.
